Filmmaking Course

CURATED BY GIUSEPPE FERLITO

The director must be able to organize, plan and schedule work; he should communicate his vision to others and at the same time blend together all of the crew in order to create a perfect technical and artistic balance; finally he should be able to instill enthusiasm.
Doing this requires a lot of work and a complete knowledge of the technical means of expression.
The course thus intends to introduce the students to film direction by placing them directly in the creative and productive process.

After a first phase centered on the study and analysis of film language (the pupils will be viewing several classic films) each student will produce a short film, going through different stages ranging from scriptwriting to location inspection, casting, work on set, editing and cutting.

The teaching method is mainly based on operative work: every phase will be combined with practical exercises, without forgetting the study of film grammar and language.
